Solara Natural Orange Wine tops online sales...

There's no mention of 'orange wine' in my Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia, but it is the 2011 edition! I think it might be time for an upgrade...

The orange wine revolution is in full swing and shows no sign of slowing down, and it's no surprise when you taste great examples like the Solara Natural Orange. It's been our best-selling wine online in March, which we feel is very much down to its approachable style. Some Orange Wines can be a little too intense if you're new to the category, but this is what I'd describe as a more gentle style.

Orange wines are made with little or no intervention and the juice is left in contact with skins and seeds, creating a pretty amber hue and a lovely rich texture. Styles will vary considerably depending on the length of the skin contact.

The Solara is a lighter style, with aromas of apricot and stone fruit on the nose followed by a fresh yet full-bodied palate with fine tannins. I'd always recommend enjoying these wines with food, and they're particularly good with a little spicy tapas!
